Community Action Poverty Simulation (CAPS) Experience

EVENT CANCELLED!
IF YOU HAVE ALREADY PURCHASED TICKETS YOU WILL RECEIVE A REFUND FROM TEMPLE ISRAEL.

Join us for a hands-on learning session about poverty, where you’ll have the opportunity to experience what life is like for thousands of low-income St. Louis individuals and families who face poverty every day. The simulation will help us to understand the human cost of poverty and the effect it has on the cycles of drug and alcohol abuse, violence, incarceration, and teen pregnancy.

$15 per Individual or per family attending together
Must be 13+ years old to participate.
$15 is the approximate ‘living wage’ in the US. A ‘living wage’ is the projected wage considered high enough to maintain a normal standard of living.

Presented in partnership with National Council of Jewish Women (NCJW) and Temple Israel’s Social Action Affinity Group. Event Co-Chairs: Nancy Litz and Judy Jacks
