Human Trafficking in the Covid Era

The National Council of Jewish Women St. Louis is honored to welcome Shima Rostami, Ed.D., Executive Director of Gateway Human Trafficking to our next Lunch & Learn on January 21, 2021. In honor of Human Trafficking Awareness Month, Dr. Rostami will discuss the unique challenges faced by advocates and survivors of human trafficking during the COVID pandemic.

Dr. Rostami is a human rights and social justice activist who is involved in the prevention of human trafficking in the St. Louis metropolitan area, the state of Missouri, the United States, as well as internationally. She has been the driving force behind five conferences known as “Breaking the Chains of Human Trafficking.” Furthermore, she is spreading the word about human trafficking in many other ways by educating communities and inspiring positive systemic change to end human trafficking.
