NCJW is committed to community activism. Each year, more than 500 NCJW volunteers logged over 8,000 hours touching the lives of 4,000

St. Louisans. Since 1895, NCJW’s pioneering projects have grown into vital social programs and agencies on their own, helping thousands of

St. Louis women, children and families.

The Older Adults Community Action Program (OACAP) provides opportunities that encourage adults to be active and involved in their community.  With the quarterly publication of Mainstream and regular speakers addressing relevant issues at OACAP monthly meetings, membership is engaged in issues concerning their own community and destiny.  For information on becoming a member of OACAP, contact Fritzi Lainoff at 314-994-9048.

Kids Community Closet Delivering new clothing directly to qualified children at their schools, this project allows NCJW to serve hundreds and potentially thousands of students each year while meeting their evolving needs as the seasons change and crises arise. As determined by a teacher, administrator or social worker, children in critical situations receive needed clothing, outerwear, underwear and socks. 'Closets' are in place within St. Louis City and County elementary schools.  The Kids Community Closet is an extension of the Back-to-School! StoreTM and also supports a St. Louis County food pantry. To get involved and learn more email us at: mail@ncjwstl.org

Wife, Widow, Woman is a long-standing support group available to women of all ages, races and religions who have been widowed.  A professional social worker teams with a widow who has been through the program to lead the group. Two 12-week sessions are held each year. For information, contact Nancy Weigley, at nweigley@ncjwstl.org or call (314) 993-5181.
