NCJW’s advocacy program integrates education with social action.
We champion issues
important to us and our community:
- Well-being of women, children and families
- Individual and civil rights and freedoms
- Welfare reform
- Health care reform
- Services to seniors
- Social justice
- Poverty
We want to make a difference and we believe we need to hold politicians
accountable for their actions and their votes.
LOCAL ADVOCACY EFFORTS
The NCJW-St. Louis Section office and our State Public Affairs (SPA) chair coordinate local advocacy efforts.
Lunch & Learn
NCJW's Lunch and Learns feature informative speakers and discussion about a wide variety of advocacy issues, legislative and governmental perspectives. Lunch and Learns are held at the Crown Center Weinberg Lounge, and have featured journalists, legislators and other interesting personalities. Join us, bring your lunch and get connected with lively conversations on NCJW issues.
Cocktails & Causes
An initiative started in 2010 that's an offshoot of NCJW's Lunch and Learn program. Because so many women under 40 have expressed interest in learning more about advocacy issues, but are unable to attend programs during the day, we are now proud to give them an opportunity to learn, schmooze and have fun. Early evening hours, usually 5:30 - 7:30pm.
